Since 2013, our experience in organizing tours to Tibet has shown that Mount Kailash and the kora (ritual circumambulation around the mountain) have a profound transformative effect on people.
Lhasa, the capital of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, sits at 3,650 meters above sea level. This ancient city served as both the traditional seat of the Dalai Lama and the capital of historic Tibet. Its very name, translated from Tibetan, means 'place of the gods.
Shigatse - Tibet's second-largest city and historic capital of Tsang Province - lies 354 km west of Lhasa along the Brahmaputra River. Situated where the Nyang Chu meets the Brahmaputra, this important cultural center has served as the seat of the Panchen Lama since the 17th century. The magnificent Tashilhunpo Monastery remains its crown jewel and one of Tibet's most authentic spiritual sites.

Mount Kailash: The Cosmic Catalyst
Mount Kailash transforms every pilgrim who completes the sacred kora (circumambulation) — whether they believe in its power or not.
As the planet’s most potent energy vortex, Kailash acts as a spiritual accelerator. In its presence, we awaken to our true potential, unlocking depths of consciousness beyond ordinary experience.
Pronunciation note: Europeans render its name as Kailash or Kailas — both are valid interpretations of the Tibetan. But no name can capture its essence.
This is a natural Place of Power. Here, meditation isn’t a practice — it happens. The mountain itself is considered Earth’s crown chakra, the holiest peak in the Himalayas.
A pilgrimage to Kailash, especially with intentional practice, purifies karma—dissolving the roots of suffering: illness, lack, isolation, and cyclic struggles.
Its energy doesn’t just inspire — it initiates. Many experience sudden clarity about life’s purpose, a profound self-reckoning, or a visceral encounter with the divine.
The Sacred Heart of Tibet: Lhasa’s Iconic SitesPotala Palace – The Celestial Fortress
Perched at 3,700 meters, the Potala Palace—Lhasa’s crowning glory—is the world’s tallest palace. Its origins trace back to sacred caves where Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig) is said to have meditated. In the 7th century, King Songtsen Gampo built a palace here, naming it Potala after the Bodhisattva’s Pure Land. By the 17th century, the Fifth Dalai Lama transformed it into the Dalai Lamas’ winter residence, a role it held for centuries.
Drepung Monastery – The Seat of Wisdom
Before the Potala’s completion, the Dalai Lamas resided at Drepung Monastery, Tibet’s largest monastic institution. Founded in 1416 by Jamyang Chöje (a disciple of Tsongkhapa), this Gelugpa stronghold lies 8 km west of Lhasa’s Old City, once housing over 10,000 monks.
Sera Monastery – Where Roses Meet Enlightenment
Nestled beneath Mount Pubuchok, Sera Monastery (one of Tibet’s six great Gelug centers) derives its name from the wild roses (sera means "rose hedge" in Tibetan) that bloom across its slopes. Established in 1419, it remains a vibrant hub for monastic debate and scholarship.
Jokhang Temple – The Spiritual Epicenter
At the heart of Lhasa’s Old Town stands the 7th-century Jokhang Monastery, built by Songtsen Gampo. Its sacred core is the Jowo Shakyamuni statue—a 2,500-year-old relic blessed by the Buddha himself. Devotees believe wishes made here are granted in the statue’s presence.
The Tibetan side of Mount Everest offers unparalleled views of the world's highest peak. Approximately 70% of the mountain lies within Tibet, where it dramatically crowns a horseshoe-shaped valley, dominating the entire landscape. The moment you enter the Jomolangma Nature Reserve, you know you're witnessing something extraordinary.
This protected area allows visitors to stay near the legendary Rongbuk Monastery - at 5,050 meters, the highest monastery on Earth. From this sacred vantage point, Everest reveals its full majesty, creating memories that last a lifetime.
Tashilhunpo Monastery: Gateway to Enlightenment
As one of the six great Gelugpa institutions - alongside Drepung, Sera, Ganden, Kumbum, and Labrang monasteries - Tashilhunpo stands as a pillar of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded in 1447 by Gendun Drup (later recognized as the First Dalai Lama), this sacred complex houses his revered remains and continues to thrive as Tibet's largest active monastic community.
More than just a historical treasure, Tashilhunpo offers profound spiritual opportunities:
The monastery's golden roofs and towering statues create an awe-inspiring atmosphere, where ancient wisdom feels palpably alive. For pilgrims and visitors alike, Tashilhunpo represents both a journey into Tibet's spiritual heritage and, perhaps, a doorway to something even greater.
Sacred Waters of Tibet: Three Legendary LakesLake Manasarovar: The Divine Mirror
The glassy surface of Manasarovar perfectly mirrors surrounding peaks and clouds, creating one of Tibet’s most breathtaking vistas. Revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, and Bonpos, pilgrims circumambulate its shores seeking purification.
Rakshasa Tal: The Shadow Lake
Just west of Manasarovar lies Rakshasa Tal, a stark contrast:
☀️ Manasarovar (freshwater) ↔️ 🌑 Rakshasa Tal (deadly saline waters)
Yamdrok Lake: Turquoise Jewel
On the Lhasa-Gyantse route, Yamdrok (4,440m) stuns with its surreal azure hues:
...they share a love of travel and spiritual development.
Our Journey: From Himalayan Pilgrimages to Global Adventures
What began as a single transformative trip to Nepal blossomed into a lifelong mission. When our first group returned radiant with joy, their enthusiasm inspired us to make these journeys regular pilgrimages. Then in 2013, we ventured into Tibet—and the response was overwhelming. Travelers begged for more, despite Tibet’s short season (May-October) due to high-altitude conditions. Soon, our horizons expanded to India, Israel, and Egypt, weaving a tapestry of sacred destinations.
In 2019, we planted new roots in California, establishing ALL WAYS INTERNATIONAL LLC. From this global hub, we’ve added the mystical lands of Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Brazil to our offerings. Every year, our map grows richer.
